My girlfriend really wants to do this. I'd be up for car friendly options too.

I actually looked into pick-your-own places last week, I'm considering it too.  I have a car but its very very very tiny so I'm not sure yet.  But anyway I thought I'd share the links I found to some of the best looking places (if anyone has experience at any of them, share it!):

You should wait until after Rash Hashahana.  Those fat cats in the orchard business hike up the prices for the holidays.  Although that's probably not true, anyways its more likely that an orchid would be YRT accessable than TTC.

You can pick apples in Toronto. So many apple trees in this city.

Check out www.notfarfromthetree.org for more info. Especially if you're near Ward 21.

Pears are easier to pick, though. Just saying.

(one of the 270 secret hidden TTC stations)

I've unlocked 60 of them, but i think i'm going to have to buy the TTC Strategy Guide from EB to find the rest.

I have an Apple tree in front of my house. There was probably 200 apples in it. One morning about 3 weeks ago i went out front and they were ALL GONE except one lone apple!

No, there was not one apple on the ground even - i had seen several different people grabbing apples (i didn't care) and a couple of girls that explained there "friend" was a forager and had an apple press - me thinks someone made some nice downtown apple cider... which is fine - when they hit the ground i was just putting them in the compost

no worries - that was my first thought about squires or raccoons... but they would have had to have been the tidiest timberland creatures going...
