My friend got lawn tickets as well. She refreshed her page so many times before 10 am that she was temporarily banned from Ticketmaster and had to purchase the tickets using another computer. Fucking Ticketmaster.

Funny thing(not funny ha ha) is that I went through Ticketmaster.ca and after a couple of different attempts snagged 2 seats in level 400, then proceeded to go through the payment process, submitted order, and fuckin' Ticktetmaster.ca gives me an error message(I checked my "Order History" and my order does not show up).  Hope Radiohead adds a second show.

I'm pretty sure this show sold out before it went on sale to the general public.

I got a lawn seat through the edge presale and I'm okay with that.

I didn't even bother trying this morning because using the whole online system is like me playing cards in Vegas and winning: not gonna happen.

They have several days off after Toronto, so here's to wishful thinking!

I was just reading NOW and on page 45 there's a full-page advert for the concert
and at the bottom-right it says "Produced by Live Nation". My impression of Live Nation
so far is that they're a ticket-reselling/"scalper" operation. I'm obviously confused here.
Can someone please explain what the heck is going on?

I was able to get two "reserved seats" through the WASTE sale on Wed, I have no idea how, seeing that the site crashed 3 minutes into the sale.  But I got them.  Keep checking back to WASTE, especially within the next week or so, because they sometimes release a second batch of tickets (I got them this way back in 2000 for the Air Canada show).

No, Live Nation is the world's biggest concert promotion company, owned and operated by our government approved friends at Clear Channel. Live National practically IS the concert industry (except sorta in Canada, but in the US, it's retarded, you're basically blacklisted if you don't bend to their will). But if you were being sarcastic, then carry on.

Guys I understand being pissed if you didn't get tickets to see Radiohead but it's not the company selling the ticket's fault or the bands fault.   Radiohead is a huge band,  of course it's going to sell out in like two seconds.  If you really wanted tickets, you should have gotten off your ass and gone down the Roger's Centre and you would have gotten them.  The vast majority of tickets sold, are sold via the internet, so it's basically like you went to hot club that had three lines to get in and you got in the longest one.  Take the path of least resistance.

you're so awesome.  what are you on about?  "hot club"??  the majority of tickets are sold through "the longest line"? could you please explain what you mean?  the longest line leads to the largest entrance?  brilliant

also, lol at "roger's centre"

The majority of tickets are sold via the internet.  If you want a better chance of getting tickets, don't try and buy them on the internet.

Seems pretty obvious to me.

PS The Rogers Centre has a Ticketmaster outlet at Gate 7.

so the majority of tickets are sold through the internet, but we have a better chance of buying them elsewhere.  okay then

uh, yeah. Way less people there, or at any other outlet, then online.
I was in line at the ticketmaster at Jean Machine in Sherway, right at 10. Tickets, no problem.

It does make sense.

Ok, I will give you that but WHAT seats did you get? worth scraping out of bed on a Saturday for to travel? You take similar chances travelling to an outlet to find that a lineup of 5 people can guarantee you NOT getting anything.

and a few people i know got tickets online.  so what's your point - that you can buy tickets in person?

Yeah, I read this thread and thought to myself that there's some dude on CL selling 12 pairs of tickets.  12!  There is a cap on the amount you can purchase, non?

So, how come with all the new technology, Ticketmaster kicks out people for refreshing their screens 10 times but yet, they don't kick out the same IP addresses who keep coming back to buy more pairs?  Okay, of course they're gonna be ahead of the game and have different IPs.  It seems all too fishy to me...  nobody's patrolling the "ticket brokers" online?  There's no disclaimer for when you purchase tickets to say "hey, if we catch you reselling these puppies above face value, you'll be fined or charged?"  Je ne sais pas.  I feel bad for the fans, but the bands are also getting screwed outta this, they are the ones actually worthy of the price, yet it's going to some sketchy dude who hacks his way into the system and makes a really good living off taking advantage of fans and bands.

I'm sorry.... that rant's been a long time coming   icon_confused

Buying tickets in person can work, but there are a bunch of variables beyond your control that way. The place you go to should be open before 10am, there can't be more than 1 person in line ahead of you and the employees at said store better know what they're doing. If any one of these things gets screwed up you can kiss tickets goodbye and I've had all three things go happen at once before. I got awesome tickets in person for Hummingbird, but that's because the venue box office had a block of tickets set aside for them alone so you weren't competing with people online or at any other outlet.

Have to say that this is this onsale was really bad though. Far harder to get tickets than the last few times previous.

I believe so but there has to be more than a couple of people in line thus Winter's comment about not having more than 1 person in front of you. They also may have been referring to the ridiculous way that 16,000 tix can 'disappear' after the second (or even first) person in line....how many actually were available in the public sale after Waste site,Amex, Edge and Livenation Presales?!

that's a good question (not sure there was an amex presale though).  the limit was four per person, which basically means you can buy single or pairs (best case) given they only sell seats together.  in person buying is ridiculous - regardless of the number of people in line only one buys tickets.  all others are out.  don't know about the pnone, but last time i was trying to buy something this way the lines were engaged...

I think what people are wondering is are there allocations set aside for the outlets (as winter said with Hummingbird), OR is the clerk's computer just in the same 10am crapshoot as the one in the comfort of everyone's own home?
